If you visit the feeder station at Brodick Castle Country Park early in the morning, before the castle itself opens to the public, you have a good chance of seeing Red Squirrels. But you need to be patient; some members of the public give up after 15 minutes and go away disappointed. It was 35 minutes before the first Red Squirrel appeared, approaching slowly and timidly.
