Fulmars

Fulmars are monogamous and pair for life, returning to the same nest site year after year. Sometimes known as 'tubenoses', they have two tubes located one on either side of the beak. This adaptation is used to process salt in their diet, as they live most of their lives out on the ocean. Late afternoon at Seahouses, Northumberland, in June.
