This picture of the setting sun on a winter's day just before it sinks below the horizon was taken with a telephoto lens that I had been using to photograph Short-eared Owls. There was no time to change lenses as the light was changing fast, and within minutes the sun had gone below the horizon. The sun is a giant fireball, and this picture captures that truth powerfully.
